Every year on the fourth Thursday of November all across America folks spend a little extra time being thankful. It varies for each person, some are thankful for family, some health, some for the day off, some for the extra sports on TV, some for the playtime with friends and family outside in the fall weather, some just for shelter over their head – a meal to eat – and a sleeping bag. You get the idea. What are you thankful for this week? Now here is the trickier question; are you grateful? Grateful is loosely defined as “showing appreciation”. Do the people in your life that you are thankful for know how you feel? When I asked myself that question my knee jerk answer was “of course”. The more I thought about it I came to the realization that they might not.
So, let’s do this together. Let’s develop an ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ and make sure this Thanksgiving that we work hard to be grateful to those we are thankful for. Actually why should it only be on the fourth Thursday of the year? How about a Year of Gratitude? I like that idea. Every day for the next 365 I propose you let at least one person know that you are grateful for them, even if it is just for the smile they gave you as they said hello! By the way, it is extremely hard to have a bad day when you are always grateful.
Thank you for visiting my blog, I’m extremely grateful for your time and interaction. I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving, you deserve it!
